Erica is an Applied Behavioral Scientist with training and experience in public health, epidemiology, and patient centered outcomes research. She has 15 years of experience applying behavioral science principles and frameworks via mixed methods research in the health and patient-centered outcomes fields in both the public and private sectors. Erica has international experience as a researcher and project lead in a wide range of therapeutic areas, including chronic disease, mental health and substance abuse, autoimmune and neurological conditions, oncology, and rare diseases.

At Modus Outcomes, Erica provides strategic consulting to clients and helps design, lead, and implement both qualitative and mixed-methods patient-centered outcomes research. Combining her past industry and government experience with a passion for patient engagement in research, she has a strong eye toward applied, strategic research that facilitates decision-making. She also enjoys the challenge of exploring how to use innovative methods in digital health and artificial intelligence/machine learning to help inform understanding of patient experience.

Erica holds a MS and PhD in Community & Behavioral Health, subtrack Health Communication from the University of Iowa’s College of Public Health.
